New Transaction Fee pricing
On July 1, 2025 new transaction fee pricing additions to all Bloom Commerce customers will start to roll out. These fees will only be charged on orders created by the Bloom Commerce application.
Why are fees increasing?
The economics for running and scaling a company like Bloom is changing rapidly. Everything is more expensive, and we have to remain profitable. Charging transaction fees is something we've resisted since starting the business over nine years ago. Providing value through a fair, yet competitive fee structure will continue to be our approach.
When are fees increasing?
Starting July 1st, 2025, a small extra fee will be added for every order created by the Bloom Commerce application. These new fees will only be .25% for the first year. On July 1, 2026, they will increase to .5%. They will be applied to all orders created on July 1, 2025, and onwards. You will see the new fees added to your July 2025 invoice.
How are the fees calculated and applied?
The fee will only apply to orders created by the Bloom Commerce application. That would include batch orders, subscriptions, or any order created that uses a credit card stored on a membership.
The fee will be calculated based on the total amount of the order. The fee will be added to your existing monthly fee. If you're paying $90 per month and there are $25.20 in transaction fees, your total charge for the month will be $115.20.
If you are using our compliance integrations, there aren't any additional charges for using those features. These charges will only apply to orders created by the Bloom Commerce app.
How do these charges compare to the competition?
Our transaction fees are highly competitive and arguably the lowest in the industry. Below is a table comparing our new fees with our main competitors.
Our transaction fees were validated after running many different models to compare the average monthly costs with our competitors. The models ranged from very large customers with over $20M in annual sales to some of our smallest customers generating less than $250k in sales.
Here is a comparison of a customer we considered a middle-of-the-road business, generating $2.1M yearly from Bloom Commerce orders. You can see that the model shows Bloom Commerce is still significantly less than our competitors.
NOTE: Since these fees are only added when Bloom Commerce is used to create an order, your monthly fees will only change during the months you use the application. For a basic example, if you only run your wine club batches twice a year, your monthly fee will only increase for those two months.
